See the palace of the founding father of the UAE. Experience bedouin life in Al Ain’s oasis and get close to camels at the biggest camel market in the country. Enjoy the view from the highest mountain in Abu Dhabi.
The translation of the arabic word Al Ain means the source. In the early history the area was famous for its natural water source and became a stop on the caravan trail from the Persian gulf to the Indian ocean. The bedouins used the water for date palm cultivation, agriculture and animal farming. Today Al Ain is called the garden city because of all the parks and green gardens.
Al Ain, the biggest inland city of the UAE is surrounded by magnificent red sand dunes and impressive mountains. It is only 160km away from Dubai. First stop on our tour is the Palace museum, the place where Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayan was living with his family before he became the ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966. You can enjoy a stroll in one of Al Ain’s date palm oasis as well as in the lively fruit and vegetable market. After lunch break we will show you the biggest camel market in the country. Here you can try your skills in haggling. You will have the chance to get photographed eye to eye with a camel. In the afternoon we drive to the highest mountain in Abu Dhabi - Jebel Hafeet with more than 1000m height. From the top of Jebel Hafeet you will have the perfect bird eye view over the city. At the foot of the mountain are hot springs which are a famous weekend getaway for locals and tourist alike.
